What Injuries Are Common in Head-On Collisions in Temple, TX?
Head-on crashes in Temple can cause head or brain trauma, neck injuries, chest and rib injuries, internal bleeding, broken bones, and back or spinal damage. The severity varies, and some injuries require lengthy treatment.
Even if you feel fine at first, some injuries become painful hours or days later. Seeing a doctor promptly and following the recommended treatment plan can support your recovery and document problems linked to the accident.
In Texas, personal injury protection (PIP) is included in auto insurance unless you reject it in writing. It may help pay medical expenses and lost income no matter which driver caused the collision.
Beyond what PIP pays, you may qualify for compensation for future treatment, missed wages, reduced earning ability, pain and suffering, and vehicle damage. The amount depends on how the injuries affect your work and daily life.
Under Texas law, you usually have two years to file a personal injury lawsuit after a car crash. Missing this deadline may prevent you from recovering damages through the courts.
When your injuries require extensive treatment or keep you from working, a car accident lawyer can measure those losses and find the insurance coverage that applies. An attorney can also answer the insurer's questions and negotiate on your behalf.
