Grand Prairie, TX (September 16, 2026) – One driver was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on East Jefferson Street in Grand Prairie on Sunday, September 13. The collision happened at about 1:40 p.m. in the 300 block.
Police said a Dodge passenger car was traveling east on East Jefferson Street when it struck a Ford SUV turning from westbound East Jefferson Street onto Southeast Second Street.
The Ford driver, who was the only person in the SUV, was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries. The Dodge driver was also hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses and determined that the Dodge had been traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision. The Dodge driver was later charged with manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
