Wichita Falls, TX (October 31, 2026) – A driver suffered minor injuries in a two-truck collision on Old Jacksboro Highway near United Supermarket in Wichita Falls on Wednesday morning, October 28.

During the wreck, one of the trucks struck a gas meter, which caught fire. According to Oncor, a semi-truck also hit a low-hanging communications wire, bringing down lines and causing a power outage. The outage began at 7:42 a.m. and affected about 2,060 customers.

Several lanes were closed for hours while crews worked at the scene, and the highway fully reopened by about 1 p.m.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

We hope the injured driver makes a full and steady recovery.

What Should I Do If I Was Hurt in a Truck Crash in Wichita Falls, TX?

If you were hurt in a truck crash in Wichita Falls, you should see a doctor as soon as possible, even if your injuries seem minor. Keep copies of your medical records and bills so you have a record of your treatment and expenses.

Because some symptoms take time to show up, you may not feel neck stiffness, back pain, or headaches until days after the crash. Keep track of when these symptoms begin and how they affect your sleep, work, or everyday activities.

Depending on what led to the accident, the truck driver, trucking company, or company responsible for low-hanging lines could share responsibility. More than one party may be responsible if their actions contributed to the crash.

Because trucks carry their own records, they may hold useful information about what happened before the crash. Black box data, driver logs, and maintenance records can help explain the events, but some records may be lost or overwritten if they are not requested early.

Depending on your injuries, you may be able to recover compensation for medical bills, lost wages, vehicle damage, and pain and suffering. The amount you could receive depends on your losses and the circumstances of the crash.

Under Texas law, you generally have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit. If you miss this deadline, you could lose your chance to seek compensation, although some exceptions may apply.

Because truck crashes can involve several parties, a truck accident lawyer can sort out each party’s role. An attorney can also request the trucks’ records and handle the insurers while you focus on healing.
