Abilene, TX (September 12, 2026) – A motorcyclist died after a collision with a minivan at Sayles Boulevard and South 12th Street in Abilene on Wednesday, September 9. The crash happened at about 4:24 p.m.
According to the Abilene Police Department, a minivan was traveling north on Sayles Boulevard and tried to turn west onto South 12th Street. A motorcycle traveling south on Sayles Boulevard then struck the minivan.
First responders were called to the intersection after the crash. The motorcyclist was taken to Hendrick Medical Center for treatment but later died from his injuries.
The Abilene Police Department Traffic Division is conducting a follow-up investigation. Police said intoxication does not appear to have played a role in the crash.
