Austin, TX (September 25, 2026) – One person was seriously hurt early Thursday morning, September 24, after a two-vehicle wreck shut down a southbound frontage road in east Austin.
According to Austin Police, the crash happened around 5:35 a.m. near 51st Street on the frontage road of the 183 Toll Road.
Emergency units responded to the scene and closed all southbound frontage road lanes while they worked. The closures affected drivers heading south on the toll road during the early morning commute.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. The severity of the injuries has not been clarified.
