Harris County, TX (October 14, 2026) – A six-year-old child was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Peachstone Place near Ribbon Creek Way in Harris County on Tuesday, October 13. The collision happened just south of State Highway 99.

According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, the child was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being transferred by Life Flight to another hospital for further care. The extent of the child’s injuries has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured child receives the care they need to recover fully and quickly.

What Should I Do If My Child Was Injured in a Pedestrian Crash in Harris County, TX?

If your child was injured in a pedestrian crash in Harris County, make sure they receive medical attention, report the crash, preserve available evidence, and notify the appropriate insurance company. Follow the doctor’s treatment recommendations, including any scheduled follow-up visits.

As your child recovers, watch for changes in their pain, movement, sleep, mood, or daily activities. Keep track of any difficulties they experience and share your concerns with their doctor. These observations can help guide treatment and document their recovery.

When an insurance company contacts you, provide accurate information about the crash without guessing who was responsible or how long your child’s recovery will take. Avoid saying your child has fully recovered before the extent of their injuries is clear.

While your child receives treatment, health insurance or applicable auto insurance coverage may help cover eligible medical expenses. A claim against a responsible driver may take longer to resolve, so you can also ask medical providers about payment arrangements.

Beyond immediate medical bills, compensation may include future treatment, rehabilitation, pain and suffering, and other recoverable losses. Your child’s long-term needs may become clearer as they recover, which could affect the amount of compensation available.

Under Texas law, the filing deadline for a minor’s personal injury claim is generally paused until they turn 18. However, parents’ separate claims may have shorter deadlines, and certain claims have special requirements.

Because claims involving children can have additional legal requirements, a pedestrian accident lawyer can review your child’s case and explain the steps involved. An attorney can also handle the necessary paperwork, track deadlines, and help protect your child’s legal rights.
