Legal Options After a Pedestrian Crash Involving a Semi-Truck in Lubbock, TX

A person seriously injured in a collision involving a semi-truck may be able to pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other losses. Whether a claim is available depends on the facts, the evidence, applicable law, and the actions of the parties involved.

Medical expenses may include emergency treatment, hospital stays, diagnostic testing, medication, rehabilitation, and follow-up appointments. For serious injuries, care may continue for an extended period. Medical records, bills, and treatment recommendations can help document both current expenses and anticipated future needs.

Lost wages may also be considered if injuries prevent someone from working. Pay records, employer statements, and documentation of missed work can help establish financial losses. If the injuries affect a person's future ability to earn income, that may also be relevant to a claim. Other potential damages may include pain and suffering, depending on the facts and applicable law.

Determining liability in a crash involving a pedestrian and a commercial vehicle can require a careful review of the available evidence. Investigators may consider witness statements, photographs, vehicle movements, roadway conditions, and any available video footage.

Depending on the evidence, responsibility may involve the truck driver or another party. The fact that a semi-truck was involved does not automatically mean the driver or a trucking company is legally liable. Any claim must be assessed based on the specific circumstances and applicable legal standards.
