What Are My Legal Options as an Injured Passenger After a Crash in Bryan, TX?
After a crash in Bryan, an injured passenger may be able to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost income, pain, and other losses caused by the collision. The options available depend on who caused the crash and the insurance coverage involved.
When more than one vehicle is involved, different insurance companies may investigate the same crash. Their findings can affect how the claim proceeds, particularly when there is disagreement over which driver caused the collision.
Because Texas follows a modified comparative responsibility rule, fault can be divided among the people whose actions contributed to a crash. This can affect how responsibility is assigned and how much each party may ultimately have to pay.
In a serious collision, insurance policy limits can also become an issue. If several people are seeking payment from the same policy, the available coverage may not be enough to fully address every claim.
In Texas, most personal injury lawsuits must be filed within two years. Missing the applicable deadline can prevent an injured passenger from pursuing the case in court.
During the claims process, a car accident lawyer in Bryan can review the crash details, communicate with the insurance companies, and identify which policies may apply.
