Houston, TX (September 2, 2026) – Two people died in a two-vehicle wreck early Wednesday, September 2, on the westbound Sam Houston Tollway at Telephone Road in Houston.
The Harris County Constable Precinct 2 reported that the crash involved a wrong-way driver. One male driver became trapped in a vehicle that caught fire. Westbound lanes were closed for a couple of hours.
The drivers, a man and a woman, were the only occupants of the vehicles.
Deputies continue to investigate the collision.
