Del Valle, TX (October 26, 2026) – Two people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle collision that sparked a vehicle fire on Texas 71 in eastern Travis County early Monday morning, October 26.

One of the vehicles caught fire, prompting emergency crews to respond as the roadway remained closed.

One adult was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, while another was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.

We wish everyone injured in the wreck a smooth and complete recovery.

What Compensation May Be Available After a Serious Crash in Del Valle, TX?

People injured in a serious roadway crash may face substantial medical bills, lost income, and other expenses while recovering. Depending on the circumstances, eligible individuals may be able to seek compensation from a party whose negligence contributed to the collision. The amount and types of compensation available depend on the evidence, the extent of the injuries, insurance coverage, and applicable Texas law.

Medical expenses are often a primary consideration when evaluating compensation. These costs may include emergency treatment, hospital stays, diagnostic tests, medication, rehabilitation, and follow-up appointments. When injuries are severe, future medical needs may also be relevant. Medical records, bills, and treatment recommendations can help document these expenses and establish the care required.

Alongside medical costs, injured people may be able to pursue compensation for lost earnings. Time away from work during treatment and recovery can create financial strain, while some injuries may affect a person’s ability to return to their previous job or work schedule. Pay stubs, employer statements, and other income records may help demonstrate these losses. Whether reduced future earning capacity can be included depends on the circumstances and supporting evidence.

Compensation may also account for certain nonfinancial effects of an injury. Depending on the facts and Texas law, a claim may include damages for physical pain, mental anguish, or limitations on everyday activities. The nature and severity of the injuries, the course of treatment, and the effect on daily life may all be relevant when evaluating these losses.

Because legal deadlines and claim requirements may apply, injured people may benefit from understanding their options early. A qualified Texas attorney can review the circumstances, explain which categories of damages may be available, and help evaluate settlement offers. Keeping organized records of expenses, treatment, and missed work can support that review and help ensure relevant losses are considered.
