Spring Cypress, TX (October 13, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on Spring Cypress Road left a 62-year-old woman critically injured on Tuesday, October 13, prompting an airlift to a hospital.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division said the crash occurred around 9:33 p.m. in the 1700 block of Spring Cypress Road. Preliminary findings indicate a Toyota Camry driven by a 21-year-old woman was leaving a parking lot and attempting to turn left onto westbound Cypress when it struck a westbound Kia Soul.

After the impact, the Kia veered into the median, struck a tree, and rolled over. The 62-year-old driver was airlifted to a hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

The crash is still being investigated.

We hope the injured woman makes a steady recovery.

What Compensation May Be Available After a Car Accident in Spring Cypress, TX?

People injured in a Texas car accident may be entitled to compensation when another driver’s negligence causes or contributes to the crash. The types and amount of damages available depend on the evidence, insurance coverage, and each party’s share of responsibility.

Depending on the injuries and their impact, compensation may cover emergency treatment, hospital expenses, rehabilitation, prescription costs, lost income, reduced future earning capacity, and pain and suffering. When injuries require extensive treatment or affect a person’s ability to work long-term, future medical needs and financial losses may also be considered.

To determine what compensation may be available, it is important to establish how the crash occurred and who was responsible. Investigators may examine vehicle damage, roadway conditions, witness statements, photographs, surveillance footage, and other records. Injured people and their representatives may also need to preserve evidence relevant to an insurance claim or lawsuit.

How responsibility is divided can directly affect recovery. Texas follows a modified comparative responsibility rule, under which an injured person may generally recover damages if they are no more than 50% responsible, although the award is reduced by their percentage of fault. If their responsibility exceeds 50%, they generally cannot recover damages from another party under this rule.

Because fault and the extent of the injuries can affect a claim, it is also important to handle insurance communications carefully. Keep copies of medical records, bills, wage documentation, and correspondence with insurers. Before accepting a settlement, consider whether it accounts for ongoing treatment and possible future losses, especially if the full extent of the injuries remains uncertain.

Finally, Texas generally allows two years to file a personal injury lawsuit, although exceptions may apply. Seeking legal guidance promptly can help clarify applicable deadlines and preserve the opportunity to pursue compensation.
