What Legal Options May Be Available After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Antonio, TX?

Families who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident in San Antonio, TX, may have legal options depending on the circumstances. Texas law allows certain surviving family members to pursue a wrongful death claim when another party's wrongful act, neglect, carelessness, or unskillfulness causes a death. Whether a claim is appropriate depends on the available evidence and the specific facts involved.

Pedestrian fatalities can leave families facing funeral expenses, lost financial support, and significant emotional hardship. The circumstances surrounding a person's death may also affect which insurance policies apply and whether a civil claim is available. Each case requires an individual review of the facts and applicable law.

A wrongful death attorney may help surviving family members understand their potential legal options after a fatal roadway accident. This assistance can include reviewing available records, examining insurance coverage, identifying potentially responsible parties, and explaining the requirements for a wrongful death claim. An attorney can also discuss applicable deadlines and the types of damages that may be recoverable under Texas law.
