Beaumont, TX (October 28, 2026) – Two drivers suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 105 at Tram Road near Beaumont on Wednesday morning, October 28.
According to preliminary findings from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Dodge pickup truck attempted to turn left onto Tram Road. The pickup reportedly failed to yield to a westbound Mazda SUV.
The Mazda struck the passenger side of the Dodge, causing the pickup to overturn.
Emergency crews transported both drivers to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The drivers were a 17-year-old Beaumont girl in the Mazda and a 51-year-old Beaumont woman in the Dodge. A 13-year-old boy was also riding in the Mazda, but he did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities reopened the affected traffic lanes after the crash. The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
We hope both injured drivers make a full recovery.
What Should I Do If My Child Was Injured in a Car Accident in Beaumont, TX?
If your child suffers injuries in a car accident in Texas, getting medical care should be your first priority. Even if the injuries seem minor, a doctor can check for problems that may not appear right away. Keep all medical records, bills, and treatment instructions in a safe place.
Once your child receives medical attention, try to gather as much information about the crash as possible. Take pictures of the damaged vehicles and surrounding area if you can. You should also request a copy of the police report and collect contact details from any witnesses.
You should also notify your insurance company about the accident. Explain what happened without making assumptions about who caused the crash. Avoid accepting a quick settlement before you know the full extent of your child's injuries and whether they will need additional treatment.
Under Texas law, you may be able to recover certain medical expenses you are responsible for paying after your child suffers injuries. Your child may also have a separate claim for pain, suffering, and other losses resulting from the accident.
Since children generally cannot handle their own legal claims, you may need to pursue the case on your child's behalf as a parent or legal guardian. In some situations, a court must approve a settlement to make sure it protects your child's interests.
You should also pay attention to the deadlines for filing a claim. Texas generally gives injured people two years to file a personal injury lawsuit, although different rules may apply to minors. Your deadline for recovering medical expenses may differ from the deadline for your child's claim.
While you focus on helping your child recover, a car accident lawyer can help you deal with insurance companies and understand the legal process. An attorney can also review your child's medical needs and work toward compensation that accounts for future treatment and other covered losses.
